A 19-year-old man was arrested after abducting a woman in the Fairfax area. On Sunday, Nov. 21, about 6:50 p.m., Michael Aaron Thomas, of Babashaw Court in the Fairfax area, was working at Michael's Crafts store located in the 3000 block of Nutley Street. Thomas approached a 23-year-old customer, grabbed her and demanded she escort him to the back of the store. The woman complied and was led to a poorly lit room where Thomas demanded she disrobe at knifepoint. The victim reasoned with him and was able to escape unharmed. With the assistance of store personnel, police were summoned and Thomas was charged with abduction with the intent to defile. He was taken to the Adult Detention Center where he was held pending his court date.
