Cash 'N' Carry Art Sale. The Ellipse Art Center's first Cash 'N' Carry Art Sale offers art by area artists at reduced prices just in time for the holidays, from Dec. 4-18. "Highest Yellow." Signature Theatre presents "Highest Yellow," a new musical by five-time Tony nominee Michael John LaChiusa and award-winning playwright John Strand. "The Highest Yellow" is the first commissioned musical in Signature's history. The show will run Oct. 26-Dec. 12; performances are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets cost between $30 and $49 and are available through tickets.com. Miniature Golf and Batting Cage. The deluxe miniature golf course and the batting cage at the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority's Upton Hill Regional Park, 6060 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, are open for play from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays; from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays; from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through October. Fees are $5.50 per round for an adult, age 13 or older; $4.50 per senior 60 or older and per junior, age 12 or younger; and $2 per replay round. Mini-golf birthday party packages also are available. Senior Travel. The county's Office of Senior Adult Programs (OSAP) offers a variety of travel opportunities and day excursions throughout the year. Trips range in price from $8-$80 and include theaters, museums, sports, outlet shopping, casinos and historic sites. Overnight trips are planned several times a year. The Pentagon Row Ice Rink opened for the skating season on Nov. 1. The season will run through March 2005, weather permitting. The Ice Rink is located at 1201 South Joyce St. Normal hours of operation are: Monday-Thursday, noon to 9 p.m.: Friday, noon to 11 p.m.: Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Hours will be extended during holidays.
