Fire Damages Burke Home

A fire on Tuesday morning on Andromeda Drive in Burke caused significant damage to a single-family home. According to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, units responded to a two-alarm blaze around 10:30 a.m., to 9080 Andromeda, and had the blaze under control in 20 minutes. Spokesman Dan Schmidt said one adult was home, along with three dogs. There were no injuries, and damage is estimated at $50,000. Investigators determined a zero-clearance fireplace caused the fire.
