<lst>The bluegrass band, The Seldom Scene, will perform a concert to benefit the children of the Child Rescue Centre in Bo, Sierra Leone. The opening band will be All 4Hym. Sierra Leone has been ravaged by a brutal civil war, many children orphaned and all of the children traumatized. The Child Rescue Centre rescued 40 children from the streets during the war and provided food, clothing, housing, education, health care and a loving and nurturing environment. In addition, 100 children have been placed with families and provided food, education and health care.
Life Line Screening, a provider of preventative health screenings, will be coming to Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Jan. 31 from 8:30 to 5 p.m. to perform ultrasound screenings to detect the risk for stroke and vascular disease, as well as bone density screening.
