Loudoun received four to five inches of snow Monday from a low-pressure system covering a major portion of the East, according to the National Weather Service.
In response, the public schools closed school on Monday and again on Tuesday. Both the schools and the county postponed several meetings scheduled both days. The School Board meeting scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 is postponed to Tuesday, Feb. 3. At the county level, several meetings scheduled on Jan. 27 are postponed, including those for the Economic Development Committee, the executive committee of the Economic Development Commission and the special Finance and Government Services Committee. The Public Safety Committee meeting scheduled on Jan. 26 is postponed until Thursday, Jan. 29.
