The Board of Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services announced that Shannon Steene has been named the new executive director of Good Shepherd Housing.
Serving the community since 1974, Good Shepherd Housing is a 501(c3), charitable agency that prevents homelessness, provides community support and promotes the potential for self-sufficiency. Award-winning programs serve the working poor, the disabled and the elderly.
Steene was promoted from the position of deputy director and brings extensive knowledge of the issues surrounding housing to the job. He has 10 years of non-profit experience, four of those years at Good Shepherd Housing. Steene has also served on a variety of non-profit boards and has been recognized by the Nebraska Governor's Commission on Housing and Homelessness for his work in that state.
Steene said he was both eager and qualified to pick up the reins and lead Good Shepherd Housing into a successful future.
