<bt>Kristen Marie Anderson, a 25-year old woman from Fairfax County, was killed on Friday, July 2 in a traffic accident on 495 after she lost control of her vehicle.
Sgt. Wallace Bouldin of the state police said that shortly before 11 a.m. Anderson lost control of her 2000 Volkswagen Golf as she was driving south on 495. “She crossed through an emergency crossover and into the north bound lane where she was struck by a 2004 Chevy pickup,” said Bouldin.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. No further details are available on the second driver.
Traffic on the Beltway near the 193 Georgetown Pike exit was snarled for hours as Virginia State Police worked on reconstructing a fatal traffic accident. “We had to shut it down to one lane for about three hours,” said Bouldin.
