<sh>Man Nabbed in Carjacking Case

<bt>Strangers jumped in to help Fairfax County Police follow and capture a 21-year-old Richmond-area man on July 7, after a carjacking that occurred at Springfield Mall at about 8:40 a.m.

The suspect attacked a 64-year-old Springfield-area woman in the Macy's parking garage. He grabbed her car keys and pushed her to the ground. The robber then fled in the woman's car. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries from the struggle. The car was spotted by a Fairfax County officer who was on duty on I-95. Utilizing a CB radio, the officer solicited assistance from truckers. Several drivers responded to the officer's call, keeping the stolen car in view and continually updating the officer.
