Superintendent of Schools Gets $10,000 Raise

Board approves 5.5 percent increase for Hatrick.

Superintendent Edgar Hatrick has earned a $10,106 salary increase, effective July 1, officials said. The School Board voted last Thursday to raise his current $183,750 salary by 5.5 percent.

Hatrick, a 1963 graduate of Loudoun County High School, has worked for the county for 38 years.

The board also provided a $15,000 contribution to a deferred annuity and $5,000 to a life insurance policy, school system spokesman Wayde Bayrd said. In keeping with his contract, Hatrick also uses a county car.

In addition, the board gave 5.5 percent pay increases to other senior staff members.

Here is a list of the top salaries after July 1st:

Dr. Edgar B. Hatrick III - $193,856

Sharon Ackerman - assistant superintendent for instruction - $128,692

Doug Holmes - assistant superintendent for pupil services - $128,692

Matthew Britt - assistant superintendent for personnel services - $128,692

C. Sue Hurd - assistant superintendent for business and finance - $126,692

Evan Mohler - assistant superintendent for support services - $126,692

Ned Waterhouse - deputy superintendent - $128,692

The following high school principals all are $120,273: Ed Starzinski, Christine Forrester, Jim Person, Anne Brooks, Ed Markley, Gerald Black and William Oblas.

Barbara Hulver, director of secondary education - $117,054

Sam Adamo- director of planning and legislative service - $112,407

Tom Sullivan - director of construction - $112,407

Peter Hughes - director of curriculum and instruction $112,407

Ron Dyer - director of elementary education - $112,407

Bill Kolster - director of facilities services - $112,407

Preston Coppels - director of instructional services - $112,407

Mary Kearney - director of special education - $112,407

David Weisman - director of student services - $112,407

Mike Lunsford - director of transportation - $112,407
