Potomac, Maryland is one of the best communities in which to live or work. It has maintained its small town feel, with a relaxed atmosphere of country living, while smack dab in the middle of organized chaos. People walking down the sidewalks still know their passersby and greet each by name.
Potomac is conveniently located in the middle of all the big business areas. Accessible to Virginia and Washington, D.C., while still close to vacation hot spots. Everyone wants to visit the DC area and Potomac presents a nice “quiet after the storm” place to relax after a day of touring.
Many residents participate within their community. They get involved in local charities, schools and environmental issues. It's never surprising to see women’s groups planting flowers along the main thoroughfare.
There are many fine public and private schools where as a collective community they maintain high standards of education.
Residents hail from many different backgrounds and mesh well together. Potomac opens her arms to the diversity, embraces it and it becomes a positive for the community. Potomac is a blend of urban sophistication and country leisure. It’s unusually cosmopolitan! Your neighbors are senators and movie stars. You just never know whom you might meet.
There is a lot to do. Your family can enjoy hiking, boating, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, and mountain biking and picnicking. The historic towpath along the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal offers unequaled beauty right along the Potomac River. On top of that there is beautiful hunt country and polo matches all very close to DC and the Smithsonian or visit the National Zoo.
