New Reston High Rise Arising

Developer KSI Services, Inc. broke ground Tuesday afternoon for a new 21-story residential high-rise building at Reston Town Center.

The new building, called Midtown, will be the final condominium development located at Town Center and will feature luxury amenities such as a doorman, golf membership, personal trainers and chefs.

Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony, KSI President Rick Haulser said the development fits squarely with the idea that Reston residents should be able to live, work and play in the same community.

"It's the place where people live. It's the place where people work. And it's the place where people eat," Haulser said. "It's a vertical planned community if you will."

Fairfax County Supervisor Cathy Hudgins (D-Hunter Mill) said at the ceremony that the development echoes Reston founder Bob Simon's vision for the community.

"This is a place that can enhance and solidify what we believe in here in Reston," she said.

In addition to the new building, the development will also include a park and swimming pool accessible to residents.
