Welcome Shabbat under the Stars at Adat Reyim on Friday, July 30, with Rabbi Bruce Aft. Event begins at 6:30 p.m., and participants are asked to bring a parve or dairy dinner and have Shabbat dinner picnic-style. Jubilee Christian Center sponsors a special healing service on Sunday, Aug. 1, at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. St. Mark's Lutheran Church sponsors Bible School on Aug. 1-5 from 6:30-8 p.m. for the entire family, with the theme of "Camp Creation." A light dinner will be served each night followed by singing and fellowship. Students will learn wonderful Bible stories and make fun crafts while parents enjoy an evening of fellowship and Bible Study based on episodes of the Andy Griffith Show. Fellowship Baptist Church of Springfield sponsors a Vacation Bible School from Aug. 2-Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The theme is CastleKids, Choosing to Serve the King. Program includes Bible lessons, music, crafts, games and snacks, and is open to children ages 3 through rising seventh graders. The program is free, but registration is required. The Little River United Church of Christ hosts Sunday Matinee Discussion Groups this summer. Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, located at 8336 Carrleigh Parkway in Springfield, supports a Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) program on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are 9:30-11 a.m., at the church. All mothers and children are welcome. The program provides mothers an opportunity to get to know other mothers through discussions and craft activities.
