Gunfire In Sterling

A possible gang-related altercation erupted into gunfire early Monday, July 26, in Sterling Park.ÊÊ

According to the Sheriff's Office, two unknown black males approached a residence in the 120 block of North Sycamore Road where they allegedly attempted to intimidate several people inside the home.

The suspects left the scene after two Sterling men, ages 16 and 39, came out of the residence both brandishing firearms. The two reportedly fired their weapons into the air.ÊÊ

Witnesses say the suspects are involved in gang activity and members of the Sheriff's Office Gang Unit, who were called to the scene, are investigating.

The confrontation is believed to have stemmed from a previous altercation between the two suspects and several people inside the home.

Deputies were called to area shortly after 1:30 a.m. after the Sheriff's Office received several reports of gunfire in the area. The case remains under investigation and charges are pending.
