* Woodworking Woodpecker, Saturday, June 19, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Children will learn to recognize different woodpeckers and their calls and make woodcrafts to take home. Fee: $4/child, Reston Association (RA) members. $7/child, non-members.
* Wonderbugs!, Thursday, June 24, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Children will learn about different insects. Reservations required by June 21 Fee $3/child, RA members. $5/child, non-members.
*Bird Music, Wednesday, June 30, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. During a walk on the Walker Nature Education Center trails, children will learn how to tell which birds makes what sounds and what they mean and sing some bird songs together. Reservations required by June 27.

Explosive Performance is registering student athletes for its 2004 summer camps at the Sport & Health Club location in Herndon. The one-week camps contain two hours of training per day to improve performance in the sport of the athlete's choice. Sessions are broken into two age groups (ages 9-13 and ages 14-18). Groovy Grandparenting class will be held on June 18 and 25 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at the Hunters Woods Reston Community Center. Participants will learn how to build lasting memories with their grandchildren through activities including arts and crafts, map reading, scavenger hunts, field trips and journal writing. At the conclusion of the class, participants will have the option of taking their grandchildren to a special "Legacy Luncheon." This class is for grandparents only. The League of Women Voters will present, in cooperation with Fairfax County Public Schools Adult and Community Education, "More Power to You," an overview of how local government works and how it relates to Virginia State government. The four sessions, will be held on Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. in the Fairfax County Government Center . The topics are:

* Sept. 29: "Evolution and Powers of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors"
* Oct. 13: "Navigating Authorities, Commissions and Departments"

ESL Courses. Reston Community Center offers English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for adults with beginning to intermediate levels of proficiency in English. The courses will cover basic grammar, conversation, pronunciation and writing. Classes are targeted to people age 16 and older.
