The role of the Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims will be the topic of the next meeting of Arlington-Fairfax Chapter 10, Disabled American Veterans (DAV). The meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, 7:30 p.m., at American Legion Post 139, located at 3445 Washington Blvd. Leslie C. Rogall, Appellate Counsel with the DAV Judicial Appeals Office in Washington, D.C., will present information about the role and impact of the court on the process of appeals involving veterans' claims. Arlington-Fairfax DAV Chapter 10 meets on the second Thursday of each month at American Legion Post 139. Each meeting includes news and information of interest to veterans and their families. Columbia Pike Community Chorus. Rehearsing to present "The World Sings Christmas," a program of choral and instrumental music from around the world: African, Spanish, Asian, French, Venezuelan, West Indies, German, on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2217 Columbia Pike. The Williamsburg Civic Association will meet Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m., at Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 Little Falls Road. The program: "The Future of I-66 from Rosslyn to the Beltway." One option under consideration is to widen the highway to six lanes. Speaker is Theresa L. DeFore, VDOT project manager for the study. Arlington/Falls Church Young Republicans holds monthly meetings on the fourth Monday of each month at the Boulevard Wood Grill, 2901 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. Meetings start informally at 7 p.m. with a happy hour designed for young people to network and progress to a formal meeting downstairs at 7:30-9 p.m.
