On Thursday, Nov. 11, around 10:15 p.m., a 28-year-old Herndon area man was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Merrilee Drive in the Merrifield area. The victim was standing outside smoking a cigarette when he was approached by two men, one displayed a handgun and the other went through the victim's pockets. The suspects fled towards Dorr Avenue. There were no reported injuries. Both suspects were described as black and in their early 20s. The first suspect was 6 feet tall and weighed about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The second suspect was 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
