The following incidents were reported to the McLean District of the Fairfax County Police Department:

<cal1>POLICE IMPERSONATOR

<lst>Leesburg Pike/Pimmit Drive

A police impersonator who stole money from a man has been caught. Jesus Sossa-Vivancos, 35, of 13890 Montoclair Lane in Woodbridge, has been charged with obtaining goods under false pretense (felony), credit card theft (felony), petit larceny (misdemeanor), and impersonating a police officer (misdemeanor) after an incident that took place in the Pimmit Hills area on Sunday, Oct. 3. About 1:30 p.m. a man, 46, who lived nearby, was at the bus stop located at Leesburg Pike and Pimmit Drive when a vehicle pulled up to him, and the driver, Sossa-Vivancos, identified himself as a police officer. The victim was ordered into the vehicle and he complied. Under the guise of conducting an investigation, the suspect asked for the victim’s wallet and ATM PIN number. Sossa-Vivancos dropped the victim off at Leesburg Pike and Patrick Henry Drive and returned the wallet without the ATM card. The suspect used the card to retrieve money from the victim's bank account. An investigation into this incident led to Sossa-Vivancos' arrest. Sossa-Vivancos is suspected in similar cases throughout the Northern Virginia area. He is currently being detained at the Adult Detention Center

<cal1>MALICIOUS WOUNDINGS

<lst>2800 block Dover Lane

A man was shot in a robbery attempt on Saturday in the Merrifield area. A 45-year-old Merrifield area man was exiting his car in the 2800 block of Dover Lane when he was approached by a man with a handgun. The suspect demanded money but the victim did not have any. The suspect then shot the victim in the leg and fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was described as black, in his 20s, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood and black jeans.

8000 block Chanute Place

A man was shot in the arm after a dispute with a roommate. At 6:23 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, police were called to a home in the 8000 block of Chanute Place in the Merrifield area. After a dispute with his roommate over finances, Shane Patrick Spahr, 23, shot the victim in the arm. The victim, 34, was taken by ambulance to Inova Fairfax Hospital with a serious, but non-life-threatening injury to his arm. Spahr was charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

<cal1>VANDALISM

<lst>1700 block Pine Valley Drive

On October 8, about 10:30 p.m. officers discovered bias graffiti spray painted on the outside of a door of West Briar Elementary School. The outdoor basket ball court was also vandalized with black spray painted graffiti. There were no signs of forced entry into the school or vandalism to the inside of the school.
