Pancake Breakfast. The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department kicks off its Capital Campaign with a community pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the fire house, 400 Center St. S, Vienna. Composter Sale. The Fairfax County Recycling Program hosts a backyard composter truckload sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Giant Food parking lot, 359 Maple Ave., E., Vienna. The Earth Machines composters, which can be used to compost such things as fruit and vegetable scraps, crushed eggshells, tea bags and coffee grounds, sell for $35, plus tax. Cops & Kids Run. The Vienna Police Department's annual "Cops and Kids Run" takes place at 10 a.m., at police headquarters, 215 Center St., S., Vienna. Open to children ages 6-14, the fun run is designed to promote good relations between the police and area youth. Refreshments provided, and all children who participate will receive a free T-shirt.
