Volunteer will check in patients, perform administrative tasks, learn eligibility process in order to train new volunteers or provide assistance to screeners as necessary, and assist patients in completing forms. Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE), a local environmental civic organization, seeks candidates to serve on its Board of Directors, a volunteer leadership group providing oversight of programming and finances. Board members must be available to attend an evening meeting. ACE is also looking for volunteers to help maintain a wildlife refuge close to downtown Ballston. AMEN provides furniture and household furnishings to Arlington residents leaving shelters and otherwise in need, and pick up donated items in Arlington. Community Outreach Program of Arlington County is looking for a Citizenship Class Teacher. As a teacher the volunteer will build relationships with people from all over the world and teach them the necessary information to obtain their citizenship. Training classes are forming now for Sept.. Volunteers must be 18 years or older, willing to complete the 45 hour training class in its entirety, and dedicate three hours each week to this deserving cause following training.
