A day before the scheduled grand opening of the new Chipotle, located at 1144 Elden Street, volunteers with the Clay Connection set up to help raise almost $1,900 for Empty Bowls.
Clay Connection, made up of local area potters, used the parking spaces in front of the restaurant Sept. 23 to sell their work for $15.
The $1,900 raised from the bowls, as well as the $5 donations for a burrito and soft drink from Chipotle, went directly to Empty Bowls, a non-profit organization that works to feed local area hungry through donations to food banks.
