The following incidents were reported by the Alexandria Police Department.
RAPE:
300 block of Yoakum Parkway. Sept. 26, 3:30 a.m. The victim, a 24-year-old female city resident, was walking home when she was approached from behind by a man, police say. The suspect grabbed her and forced her into a nearby wooded area. He beat the victim and then sexually assaulted her. After the suspect fled, the victim walked to an apartment building where a passerby called police. Police recovered evidence at the scene that led them to the suspect who was identified as Jose Vinicio Valenzuela-Lopez, a 25-year-old Hispanic male of N. Morgan Street. He was taken to police headquarters where he was interviewed and subsequently charged with rape.
BURGLARY:
200 block of Yoakum Parkway. Between 12:01 a.m. Sept. 16 and 8:45 a.m. Sept. 23. Someone entered the basement storage area by force and stole electronic equipment and luggage.
2908 Valley Drive. Between 2 p.m. Sept. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 20. Someone attempted to enter the synagogue by breaking several rear windows. Entry was not gained.
5800 Edsall Road. Sept. 20, 1 p.m. Someone entered the business trailer by force and stole two rifles, a handgun, ammunition for the weapons, a 12-volt charger and some hand tools.
100 block of N. Ripley Street. Between 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and 6:40 a.m. Sept. 24. Someone entered the residence by undetermined means and stole money.
5800 block of Merton Court. 1:40 a.m. Sept. 25. The victim woke up to find a man standing in her living room, police say. The suspect gained entry into the home through an unlocked ground-floor sliding glass door. The victim yelled at the man and then ran into another room. The suspect then walked out of the apartment. He is described as a tall skinny white male, 18-22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, 150-160 pounds and was wearing a
dark, long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
300 block of Yale Drive. Between 10:45 a.m. Sept. 24 and 9:46 a.m. Sept. 25. Someone entered the residence by force through a rear door. It is unknown if anything was stolen.
1524 King St. Sept. 24, between 8:41-8:45 p.m. Someone entered the business by force through a rear door. An alarm sounded and police were called. Nothing was stolen.
2121 Eisenhower Ave. Between 6:55 p.m. Sept. 23 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 24. Someone entered the business by undetermined means and stole money.
5600 block of Derby Court. Sept. 20, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Someone entered the residence by undetermined means and stole electronic equipment. Police stopped an individual nearby and began to question him. The suspect, a 14-year-old male city resident, was subsequently charged with burglary.
601 N. Washington St. Sept. 26, 4:25 a.m. Police responded to a business alarm call and discovered a rear door ajar. A suspect was seen exiting the front of the business and a foot pursuit began. Police were able to capture the fleeing suspect, who was identified as Anthony Bolds, a 45-year-old black male with no fixed address. Bolds was charged with burglary.

4900 block of Seminary Road. Between 6 p.m. Sept. 21 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 1988 Toyota station wagon, blue.
1200 block of S. Washington Street. Between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and 10:40 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 1999 Jeep Cherokee, sport utility, white.
5500 block of Courtney Avenue. Between 5 p.m. Sept. 20 and 1:02 p.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 1998 GMC pickup truck, white.
4800 block of Kenmore Avenue. Between 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and 6:15 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 1994 Ford Econoline van, light blue.
1200 block of Colonial Avenue. Between 8 a.m. and 8:17 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 1992 Oldsmobile, four door, maroon.
300 block of S. Reynolds Street. Between 5 p.m. Sept. 21 and 6 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 2000 Plymouth Voyager, four door, dark blue.
4500 block of Raleigh Avenue. Between 9 p.m. Sept. 21 and 8 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 2002 Yamaha motorcycle, black.
4400 block of Duke Street. Between 9 p.m. Sept. 21 and 6:45 a.m. Sept. 22. Stolen: 2003 Kawasaki, motorcycle, red.
5200 block of Duke Street. Between 9 p.m. Sept. 23 and 6:40 a.m. Sept. 24. Stolen: 1994 Lexus ES300, four door, burgundy.
1200 block of Kingston Avenue. Sept. 23, between 12:15 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. Stolen: 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe, sport utility, black.
1000 block of King Street. Between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 5:45 a.m. Sept. 24. Stolen: 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer, two door, silver.
5600 block of Derby Court. Sept. 24, between 4:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Stolen: 1994 Mitsubishi Galant, four door, blue.
