Pickleball, bait casting, swimming, dancing, bridge and basketball, were just of few of the 30 events seniors of all ages were able to compete against each other in at the 21st Annual Northern Virginia Senior Olympics.

The week-long events, held Sept. 18-30, offered seniors the opportunity to compete at various levels of difficulty in physical and mental skills to win a gold, silver or bronze medal.

The Senior Olympics offer seniors the opportunity to maintain their mobility, stay active not only physically but also mentally, while allowing them some friendly competition at their age level.

The NVA Senior Olympics included competitors from Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun counties, ranging in age from the mid-50s to early 100s.
