Number of Years in the community: 36 years this April.

Family: Spouse-Willie L. Hudgins, Jr.; adult sons, Tony and Mike.

Education: Bachelor of science in math education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff; MPA from George Mason University.

Current job/primary occupation: Prior to elected office, a teacher; computer programmer, analyst and consultant; chief aide to Fairfax County Chairman of Board of Supervisors.

Achievements: Successfully working with constituents of diverse views to reach consensus on complex issues.

Activities/interests/hobbies: Walking, reading about public figures in history and talking to people.

What are your community concerns? Managing expectations in a high achieving and diverse community.

What are some ideas you have on ways to improve your community?

* Better utilization of the diverse members of the community to help shape how we grow and change.

* Better land use and transportation coordination to improve the quality of life in the community for everyone. That includes more diverse housing, more and better transportation alternatives and ways to enjoy our natural resources

* Finding more ways to easily involve youth to be engaged in their community.

What community "hidden treasure" do you think more people should know about? Lahey Lost Valley Park in Vienna, Lake Anne Village in Reston and Frying Pan Park in Herndon.

Favorite local restaurant or place in your community? Hunter Mill has a wealth of exciting places for dining. I enjoy them all — Vienna, Reston and Herndon. I like returning to Lake Anne Village to dine.

Personal goals: Always remembering that whatever I do, in the end I can sleep comfortably at night knowing I have done the best I can do.
