The Mack's Super Retriever Series, field trial will be hosted by Great Country Farms in Bluemont April 7-9. The field trial portion of the competition has a full field of 75 competitors with dogs/handler teams coming from as far away as Texas and Michigan. The event will be aired nationally on ESPN2. Posters depicting more than three decades of the old-fashioned fun of Loudoun County's country fairs are on display in the first-floor gallery and the Lovettsville Room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St., S.E. in Leesburg.
The exhibit includes posters dating back to 1970 representing the Bluemont Fair, which will be celebrating its 36th year in September; the Lucketts Fair, celebrating its 33rd year in August, and the Waterford Fair, which is presenting its 62nd Annual Waterford Homes Tour and
Crafts Exhibition in October.
All posters were designed by local Loudoun artists and were either selected for the fairs through an annual contest or donated by the artists.

River Bend Middle School presents its third annual musical production, "Hello, Dolly!" Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29; Saturday, April 30; and Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7. An afternoon matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1.

The Loudoun Arts CouncilÕs 2005 Designer Showhouse will be open to the public April 25 -May 15, with 19 designers selected to decorate the house. The furniture, accessories and artwork displayed in the Showhouse will be available to purchase and the house will be offered for sale through an open bidding process.
The house was recently built by Van Metre Homes and is located in the Lansdowne on the Potomac community at 43368 Vestals Place. Showhouse proceeds will benefit the Loudoun Arts Council and its education, outreach and artistic programs.

In March the Loudoun Hospital volunteers donated almost $30,000 to various departments throughout Loudoun Healthcare Inc., the result of a year's worth of fund-raising efforts. Hoping to top that amount next March, the volunteers have already begun scheduling small and large vendors for the next 12 months. Fund-raising events for May include:
* May 5, Mother's Day sale, featuring plants, cosmetics, and hand-made jewelry and embroidered items.
* May 10 at Lansdowne, a medical uniform sale.
* May 11 in Leesburg, a medical uniform sale.
* May 11, in conjunction with the hospital's celebration of National Hospital Week, there will be a variety of Loudoun's best food vendors for tastings and products to buy.
* May 12 at Lansdowne, "In The Bag" will be selling authentic brand-name and designer handbags at 40 percent to 70 percent off department and discount store prices. The company also carries luggage, briefcases and small leather goods.

* May 25, a summer kickoff sale, which will include jewelry, fresh-made salsa, children's tutus, painted boxes, hand-made note cards, jewelry, and sushi sets.

This spring, the Loudoun Museum launches Centuries of Change: 2005-2007, the first in a three-year series of exhibitions that commemorate important dates in LoudounÕs history. On April 8, the museum will open its 2005 exhibition Centuries of Change: BraddockÕs March and the French & Indian War, which examines the warÕs origins, outcome and the effect on the development of Loudoun County. "Discover Loudoun's Young Artists," the Loudoun County Public Schools student art show, hosted by The George Washington University Virginia Campus. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program coordinated by the IRS and sponsored locally by the Area Agency on Aging announces that once again IRS-certified volunteers will be preparing both federal and state income tax forms through April 12. This assistance is available at no charge for anyone 55 years of age or older and persons of any age with disabilities or low income for the tax year. The tax preparation sites are Purcellville Library, South Riding Town Hall, Leesburg Senior Center, Ashburn Library and Sterling Eastern Regional Library. The Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum offers two party programs, Mad FarmerÕs Tea Party and birthdays. Teas and birthdays are catered to parents and young children and are held for groups with reservations only.
