The Sully Station II Community Association in Centreville is the winner of the 2004 Humanitarian of the Year Award, sponsored by the Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute.
This tribute recognizes the single community association (condominiums, cooperatives and single family homeowner associations) in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area that best demonstrates exemplary service to the community outside of its own association boundaries.
Sully Station II Community Association is professionally managed by Sherry Harvey, of Community Management Corporation, AAMC.
The applicants were judged in areas of community service, charitable works, environmental service or political activism. A panel comprised of persons who also judged WMCCAI's Community Association of the Year awards reviewed the nominations for Humanitarian of the Year and selected the recipient. Awards were presented to each of the winners at WMCCAI's recent conference, held on March 5 at the Washington Convention Center.
Sully Station II shared its strategies during "Proven Best Practices for Community Associations: Hear it from the Winners!," a seminar moderated by Joan Alice Owen, who also served as one of this year's judges.
