Fire Destroys Home

<bt>A single-family home on Leigh Mill Road was destroyed by fire Thursday night, causing $500,000 in damage and leaving the family who lived there homeless.

No injuries were reported, according to information released by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. It is not known whether the family was home at the time of the fire or how it was caused. A neighbor had called the Fire and Rescue Department to notify them of the fire, said Lieutenant Raul Castillo.

It took responding fire departments approximately 40 minutes to extinguish the fire, which completely destroyed the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
