Joan Williams donated locks of George Washington's hair to Oatlands Plantation, after having them authenticated and appraised. She found the locks in an envelope in her home. She participated in a humorous skit just before making the presentation. She played the part of the scissors-wielding Edith Eustis, who lived at Oatlands during the 20th century. William's is Eustis' adopted granddaughter. Chase Stephens as George Washington looked down as if in shame after she snipped the locks. Fred Spencer as George Carter laughed, and Howard Allen as James Madison looked on.
