LINK churches supply groceries, gift certificates, and toys to over 2,000 needy men, women and children for Christmas Events in Sterling and Herndon Virginia. LINK is seeking volunteers to come out for two-hour increments on Dec. 17, 19 and 20. Volunteers can register by calling The LINK Hot Line at 703-437-1776. Hours can be used for community service. Christmas Food and Toy distribution events take place on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christ the Redeemer Church in Sterling, 46833 Harry Byrd Highway, and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Herndon, 651 Dranesville Road, will distribute groceries.

Toy distribution takes place Dec. 19 and 20, from 4-9 p.m., at Herndon United Methodist Church, Herndon United Methodist Church, 701 Bennett St., Herndon,

FISH (Friendly, Instant, Sympathetic, Help) helps the needy, the mentally or physically ill, the unfortunate, the disabled and people struggling to make ends meet. FISH volunteers are working at the United Christian Parish Church at 2222 Colt's Neck Road, across from the Hunters Woods Shopping Center on the following schedule: Sunday, Dec. 18, from 3- 5 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 19, from 10-12 p.m. and from 1-3 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1-3 p.m. (or until finished); Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Volunteers are needed to deliver boxes to the elderly and the infirm and particularly need students with strong backs.
