Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) headquartered in Herndon, ran its annual Toys for Kids drive Nov. 28 to Dec. 9, at the Credit Union’s Herndon, Chantilly and Vienna branches. Over 250 new toys and books were collected, surpassing last year’s total of 184. The toys were donated to Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) for distribution to the community’s less-fortunate children, ranging in age from infant to 18-years-old.

Long & Foster sales offices are selected as designated collection sites for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Donations can be dropped off at the neighborhood Long & Foster office through Dec. 15, to be distributed to local churches, social welfare agencies and needy children throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. James Deiter, manager of Government Property for Northrop Grumman IT in Herndon, was named “Property Person of the Year” by the National Property Management Association, awarded to an active NPMA member who contributes time and support in an outstanding manner and who makes significant contributions to the field of property management. Juri Valdov, president and CEO of Northwest Federal Credit Union has been elected to serve a two-year term as chairman of the Credit Union National Association, trade association representing 9,000 credit unions throughout the United States.
