The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer's Faith and Life Forums are one-hour programs featuring a speaker and followed by discussion relating to the topic of living one's Christian faith on a daily basis.

On Sunday, Feb. 13, Redeemer member Dr. Thomas M. Imhoof presents "St. Anselm of Aosta (c. 1033-1109) and the Tension between Faith and Science."

On Sunday, Feb. 20, the forum will meet but the program has yet to be announced.

On Sunday, Feb. 27, Redeemer member Dr. Thomas M. Imhoof presents "The Modern Theologian Series: Reinhold Niebuhr."

Immanuel Presbyterian Church welcomes Rev. Dan McNerney as leader of the monthly International Forum on Sunday, Feb. 13. Associate director of Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship, he has spent nine years in mission outreach and in helping to partner churches in the U.S. with new Christian churches abroad. In Europe his recent work has focused on church development in former Yugoslavia and in dealing with human rights issues for its regional gypsy peoples. He will also tell of opportunities opening in Egypt as government there begins to allow more religious freedom for Christians. Dr. Anthony Tambasco, Georgetown professor, and Ann Marie Mack, Christian educator, will speak on different parts of the Bible as part of Saint Luke Catholic ChurchÕs Adult Faith Formation Presentations. The presentations take place Wednesdays, Feb. 16 and 23, and March 9 and 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the church, located at 7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean.

Subjects will be: Feb. 16, "Where is God in Suffering? Prophets Habukkuk and the Book of Tobit," by Tony Tambasco; Feb. 23, "Worship and a Future of Hope: Prophets Zechariah, Joel and Malachi," by Tony Tambasco; March 9, "Gospel of John: Jesus the Living Water and the Light of the World," by Ann Marie Mack; March 16, "God's Universal Care: Ruth, Jonah and Esther" Tony Tambasco.

Father Jude Winkler, scholar and teacher, will conduct a Lenten Parish Mission focusing on the Gospel of John as part of Saint Luke Catholic ChurchÕs Adult Faith Formation Presentations. Redeemer Lutheran Preschool in McLean is hosting its semi-annual consignment sale of baby/child/maternity item on Friday, March 11, 7-9 p.m., and Saturday, March 12, 8-11 a.m. Come to buy or consign. The sale offers deals on clothes/books/toys/equipment and accessories for babies, children and soon-to-be-moms. Selection is plentiful and quality is high. St. Athanasius Lutheran Church, 114 Kingsley Road in Vienna, member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, offers traditional worship in accordance with the historic liturgy of the church. Emmanuel Lutheran Church has a full range of education, music, worship and outreach programs. The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer celebrates a contemporary service at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, supplementing its traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Modern praise music is sung, accompanied by a band of nine musicians on electric keyboard, bass and acoustic guitars, trumpet and drums.

The Great Falls United Methodist Church offers two services with different worship styles. The 8:30 a.m. service is traditional, and the 11 a.m. service is a blend of contemporary and traditional styles. The church is located at 10100 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls.

St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, located at 1830 Kirby Road in McLean, invites all to come for the Third Sunday Service every month at 10:15 a.m. This service allows the children to play active roles during the service, particularly in the music and as greeters and ushers.
