Lee High School's "It's Academic" team members Joey Marinucci, John O'Malley and Emily Yarrison beat out Suitland and Eastern High Schools to earn the right to compete in April in the next round of the WRC-4 game show.

On Dec. 3, Lee High School Madrigals traveled to the Pentagon to sing for soldiers who were wounded in Iraq. A special surprise was the presence of Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld, who came over and thanked the singers, and allowed the group to take a photo with him.

On Dec. 8, Lee High School's Ladies' Chamber Choir was filmed to be included in the Channel 21 "Holiday Spotlight" Concert Series.

Lee High School's Ladies' Chamber Choir sang and caroled on Dec. 11 at the Hybla Valley Nursery in South Alexandria.

The Lee High School Madrigals sang for the FCPS Cluster V Holiday luncheon on Dec. 13, at the Springfield Hilton.

The Lee High School Madrigals and Ladies' Chamber Choir sang on Dec. 18, at Union Station, beneath the Norwegian Christmas tree.

On Dec. 22, the Lee High School Madrigals went to Hunt Valley Elementary School and led a rousing sing-along. Later, they performed for the students and staff.

For the month of December, the following Lee High School Photography One students have work on display at Penn Camera, as part of a group show of student work: Sarah Esterbrook, Jenn Tillett, Anya Daly and Paul Merced.

The Lee High School marketing department is going to the District Leadership Conference Jan. 13 for DECA. The students will meet with more than a thousand other Fairfax County students to compete in marketing events.
