Members of the Northern Virginia Corvette club (NVCC) — with the help of Buffalo Wing House staff — put a twist on fundraising during the Monday night football game Dec. 20.
Members of the club took over the waitress and bartending duties for the evening to raise money for the Youth for Tomorrow foundation in Bristow, Va.
Youth for Tomorrow was established by the Washington Redskins' Head Coach Joe Gibbs to help troubled teens learn better values in life. NVCC club president Jeff Kirk along with Buffalo Wing House owner Naeem Mohd arranged this event and the staff of the restaurant offered their tip money for the evening to help with the cause.
Working for tips, club members took orders, served customers, bussed tables and bartended for the evening while customers enjoyed their food, and watched the Miami Dolphins upset the New England Patriots.
At the end of the night the group raised $254 in tips and the restuarant matched that to bring the total donation to $508.
The Northern Virginia Corvette Club meets the fourth Tuesday of every month in the evening at Koons Chevrolet in Tyson's Corner and is open to all corvette owners. For more information visit www.nvcorvetteclub.com.
