MLK Festival at Centreville High

The Chantilly Pyramid Minority Student Achievement Committee (CPMSAC) and the Centreville High PTSA presented the 11th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Festival, Sunday evening at Centreville High. The theme was "A Day of Remembrance — A Man's Walk Toward Peace and Equality."

Attendees included Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Jack Dale and School Board members Kathy Smith and Steve Hunt.

"We value diversity and racial harmony because that's what we value here in America," said Johnny Nelson, president of CPMSAC.

"School is not only about learning academic subjects, but the importance of working together — and that's the legacy of Martin Luther King. As they perform in today's program, our kids are a model toward making Dr. King's dream a reality."
