The Orange Hunt Estates and Winston Knolls civic associations teamed up for a jam-packed parade on Monday, July 4.
Headed by Fairfax County police cruisers and culminated with several fire trucks, the parade featured dozens of bike-riding, flag-waving children; parents; grandparents; dogs; tricycles and even a Harley motorcycle or two. The parade wound its way from Hunt Valley Elementary School down Sydenstricker Avenue, then looped back to Huntsman Boulevard and on to Orange Hunt Elementary. In addition to the regular marchers, political candidates Michael Golden (R) and Dave Marsden (D), jockeying for the 41st District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates, worked the crowd, which lined the sidewalks and the median of the road.
