Ryan A. Anderson of Springfield recently obtained his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering on May 14, 2005, from the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech University. Anderson is the son of Susan and Peder Anderson.

Samuel Seium of Springfield was named to the honors list with distinction for the spring 2005 semester at Virginia State University. To qualify, students must earn a 3.0 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale. Seium is majoring in criminal justice.

Crystal D. O'Rea of Springfield was recently named to the honors list with distinction for the spring 2005 semester at Virginia State University. To qualify, students must earn a 3.0 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale. O'Rea is majoring in public administration.

Kenneth H. Surkin of Springfield was named to the dean's list for the spring 2005 term at Furman University. To qualify, students must earn a 3.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Surkin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Surkin of Springfield.

Allison A. Foland of Springfield was named to the honors list for the spring 2005 semester at Central Michigan University. To qualify, students must earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

John-Michael Becker of Springfield recently graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in Industrial and systems engineering from the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Sean Gaghan of Springfield recently received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and information systems from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech.

Andrew May of Springfield recently graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in building construction from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech.
