<sh>'Summer Chats' with Superintendent
<bt>This summer, members of the Arlington community can talk informally with Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert G. Smith at a series of "Summer Chats."
Some of the topics to be discussed this summer are the new 2005-2011 Strategic Plan, student achievement and future plans for Arlington Public Schools. One additional chat, specifically for interested Arlington County seniors, has been scheduled on Aug. 3. Dr. Smith will attend all seven "chats," along with at least one additional school system representative.
The dates, times, and locations are listed below. Attendees are asked to call the telephone number listed for the date they wish to attend to reserve a space. Space is limited, so community members are asked to reserve their spot as soon as possible.

<sh>Song-Writing Contest
<bt>The Songwriters' Association of Washington (SAW) is holding its 22nd Mid-Atlantic Song Contest and is now accepting entries. This year, SAW introduces the Young Artist Prize, to be awarded to a songwriter age 21 or under. The top two winners in each of the 10 contest categories are invited to perform at the Awards Gala, which is held in Washington, D.C., in late November. <sh>Arlington Attorney Reprimanded
<bt>Lawyer Henry St. John FitzGerald was publicly reprimanded by the Virginia State Bar Fourth District Committee, Section I, on July 6. This was an agreed disposition of a misconduct charge arising from FitzGerald's failure to act with proper diligence and promptness in his capacity as administrator of a decedant's estate. FitzGerald's address of record is on the 2200 block of Wilson Boulevard in Arlington.
