James Madison High School PTSA sponsors a raffle for a chance to win a 2005 Scion xA. Tickets are $35, and proceeds benefit the annual All-Night Graduation Celebration. Only 600 tickets will be sold, and the drawing takes place June 3, provided that a minimum number of 350 tickets are sold. Participants must be 18 or older. The Oakton High School Dance Team offers a Junior Dance Camp this summer for rising first through eighth graders, from July 25-27, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Oakton High School, 2900 Sutton Road, Vienna. Volunteer Fairfax hosts its fourth annual Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute Aug. 8 to Aug. 12, at the Mason District Government Center. PYLI is a five-day institute open to high school students that teaches students an array of leadership skills including team building, project leadership, decision making and diversity training. Marshall Road Elementary School participated in a Books from the Heart book drive, collecting more than 1,000 books for Hybla Valley Elementary School in Alexandria. For over three weeks, Marshall Road collected new and gently-used books for local elementary school aged children.

Rebecca Bellotto, a student at Madison High School, won a college-sponsored merit scholarship for screen writing.
