Bucknell Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Food, games and fun bring together new and old students.

Pink and black were the colors of the evening last Thursday at Bucknell Elementary School. Students, teachers, parents and alumni went back in time to celebrate Bucknell’s 50th Anniversary and The Fabulous '50s.

The mood was set as soon as one entered the school grounds and saw the vintage cars. To make it more special, guests could have their photographs taken with the car as a memento of the evening.

Inside the school, the cafeteria, festooned with pink and black balloons, was the site for a catered dinner donated by Outback Steakhouse. Music and videos played while guests ate dinner. There was time later for games, prizes, raffles, a hula hoop contest and a cake walk. There was also a contest for the best '50’s costume and a Sock Hop Dance at 7:30 p.m.

Coming back for this special event were students from the class of 1970, 1973, 1974, 1991 and 1995.
