Animal Welfare League Hits Hole in One

Families gather for 4th annual benefit.

The sweltering heat didn’t seem to keep people away from last week’s 4th Annual Eisenhower Avenue Mini Golf Classic. The course at Cameron Run Regional Park was full the entire evening as families enjoyed a round of mini golf. Especially fun was putting against celebrity putters such as WJLA News 7 Reporter John Harter, Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille, Alexandria Vice Mayor Del Pepper, Del. Brian Moran (D-46); and Belle Haven Country Club Golf Pro Chad Mosley.

Inside the tent, guests enjoyed barbecue, hamburgers and hot dogs from Rocklands Barbecue. There was live music, a silent auction, massages, balloon characters and a raffle. Visitors could meet the adoptable shelter dogs that had been brought over to Cameron Run as well as tour the shelter itself.

Sharon Hodges, with the Eisenhower Partnership, said that they had more than 175 people and raised $17,500 for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and the Eisenhower Partnership.
