Join the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VAHCC) and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) with guest speaker Verna Montgomery, Director of Strategic Vendor Relations for Booze, Allen, Hamilton Inc., as she addresses the strategic, tactical and operational aspects of these issues. Women in Leadership: Your Success Portfolio, The Women’s Center's 20th Annual Leadership Conference, offers information, education, alternatives, perspectives, inspiration and confidence from successful women who have done it their way. On Wednesday, Feb. 16, over 50 McLean Chamber members met for the monthly Business Mixer, hosted by Moorenko's Ice Cream Cafe and sponsored by Jazzercise. Guests dined on a cold buffet and mingled with new members Meghan McMahon of the Sun Gazette, Nada Ishak of Merrill Lynch, Leigh Bell of Bass Architects and Chartered/Abingdon Development, Melissa Scott-Paine of Krosnowski & Scott LLC and Sue Pasicov of McLean Urgent Care. The next Chamber Business Mixer will take place on March 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Virginia Commerce Bank.

The Sixth Annual Women in Technology (WIT) Leadership Awards Banquet takes place on May 19 at the McLean Hilton, McLean. Award nominations are now being accepted until March 31. The WIT Annual Leadership Awards Banquet recognizes individuals for their outstanding accomplishments in the areas of mentoring, entrepreneurship and technology.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Capitol Realty Services, a full-service commercial real estate company , was recognized as the number-one affiliate office in the Commonwealth of Virginia at last week’s annual global Coldwell Banker Commercial conference in Orlando, Fla. The award is presented to the top financially performing Coldwell Banker Commercial affiliate office in each state, and the Washington, D.C. affiliate competed with 17 other affiliate offices in Virginia for the honor.To further highlight Realty Services' contributions to the Coldwell Banker Commercial brand, individuals from the Washington affiliate were honored with top awards. The half-day seminar on Feb. 24 introduced local companies to new techniques for effectively capitalizing on the power of search engine optimization to enhance corporate business development strategies.

Abercrombie & Fitch‚'s new concept RUEHL is opening at Tysons Corner Center this spring. RUEHL is aimed at the post-collegiate customer between the ages of 22 and 30. The store design is a rendition of a brownstone inspired by New York City's West Village. RUEHL will offer an assortment of clothing and leather goods for both men and women. RUEHL is scheduled to open at Tysons Corner Center this spring.

Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister will open retail stores in Tysons' new expansion wing this fall 2005 when the mall unveils its 350,000 square foot redevelopment featuring a 16-screen AMC movie complex with stadium seating, five fine-dining restaurants, a family-style restaurant, a 10-unit food court, a two-level Barnes & Noble store and 30 upscale retailers. New amenities in the expansion wing will include a customer service center, a children's play area, soft seating areas, valet parking (year-round) and an additional parking terrace with 1,675 spaces.
