The Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center at the Round Hill Center is offering three art camps for ages 6-12 during spring break, March 21-25. All camps take place at the Round Hill Center, 20 High St., Round Hill, VA 20141.

* Spring Break Art Camp/Modern Masters offers young artists the opportunity to explore and experiment with the work of five famous artists through drawing, painting, sculpting and working in collage and 3-D. Exhibit completed artwork Friday. Class runs from 9-11 a.m., the Monday-Friday of spring break for $60.

* Spring Break Music Camp where budding singers learn singing and song writing using instruments and popular music featuring a performance on the last Friday of class. Class runs the Monday-Friday of spring break, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., for $60.

* Spring Break Theater Camp features a fast week of theater fun. Theater games and improvisation leading to a class constructed performance at the end of the week. Class runs from 1-4 p.m., the Monday-Friday of spring break for $90.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will hold the 17th Annual McGruff Safety Camps June 27-July 1, July 11-15 and July 18-22. All camps run Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-noon.

The camps, which will be held at Evergreen Mill Elementary in Leesburg, allow children who are entering kindergarten and first grade to learn various topics on safety including fire safety, bicycle safety and 9-1-1 emergencies. Throughout the week children in the camp will have an opportunity to meet law enforcement officers, K-9 officers, plus a

chance to see law enforcement and fire/rescue vehicles firsthand.

Registration forms are available at Evergreen Mill Elementary School, 491 Evergreen Mill Road, Leesburg, the Sheriff's Office Administration building at 39 Catoctin Circle in Leesburg and the Sheriff's Office Ashburn substation at 45299 Research Place, Suite 100.

There is no registration fee, but donations are accepted. The camps are for children entering kindergarten and first grade and children must be 5 years old by June 1.

The Boyd School, a Montessori ChildrenÕs House Broadlands Campus announces The Boyd School Summer Camp Program has been accredited with the American Camp Association (ACA). ACA is the only independent accrediting organization reviewing camp operations in the country.

This summer, The Boyd School-Broadlands campus in Ashburn and Westfields campus in Chantilly will each host Summer Camp 2005 for campers from 3 to 16 years of age including daily outdoor activities such as sporting games and swimming as well as indoor activities such as art and music. The Leader in Training program will also return where campers from 13 to 16 years of age participate but also assist with younger campers daily in a leadership role. the camp begins June 27 and will continue for eight weeks ending Aug. 19.

The YMCA Loudoun County is accepting early bird registration, at a reduced rate, for its summer camp. Registration is being accepted Wednesday, March 16, YMCA office, 6 Fairfax St., S.E., Leesburg, from 5-7 p.m.

Spring Break Nature Camp for ages 6-10. Enjoy exploring, experimenting and crafting while discovering the frogs and tadpoles, birds and eggs and other things that make nature special in the spring. The Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services presents Spring Crafty Kids Camp, Monday, March 21-Friday, March 25, at the Sterling Annex Community Center, 1115 W. Church Road, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. For ages 5 and up. Includes a variety of spring and Easter crafts, Easter egg hunt, games, indoor/outdoor play, afternoon movies and more. Galilee United Methodist Church will be offering a Performing Arts Day Camp for rising second-sixth graders, July 25-29, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The final performance will be 7 p.m. Friday evening. Directed by The Leavening Agency, a Christian organization specializing in creative children's programming in churches and schools. There are no auditions and every participant is encouraged to choose what he or she wants to do: music: singing, hand chimes and rhythm instruments; performance skills: drama and acting; choreography: movement and sign language; stagecraft: scenery painting. Galilee United Methodist Church will be hosting the Serengeti Trek Vacation Bible School. The dates and times will be the following July 11-15, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-noon, for 3 years old-fifth graders, (3 years old by Sept. 30.) The main bible point is "Where Kids are Wild About God." KidSpirit Triple Sports Day Camp for rising second graders-sixth graders, Aug. 1-5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Directed by The Leavening Agency, a Christian organization specializing in creative children's programming in churches and schools. All campers will work on basic basketball, soccer and volleyball skills and each participant can choose one of these sports for more advanced instruction.
