The annual Great Falls Children's Spring Festival will be held at the Village Center, at the corner of Walker Road and Georgetown Pike. Scheduled from 2-4 p.m., the festival is sponsored by the Great Falls Optimist Club. The event includes an egg hunt, mini carnival rides, hay rides, face painting, the Easter Bunny and more. For children 1-10. More than $5,000 worth of gemstones, donated by Adeler Jewelers, will be mixed with candy in the eggs. All proceeds from the event go to the Great Falls Optimist Club Children's Fund. Cost is $8 per child. The Governing Board of the McLean Community Center (MCC) is seeking input from residents at its Public Hearing on Programming for FY ‘07. The hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, at the Center. Residents of the Center’s tax district (Small District 1A, Dranesville) are encouraged to voice their opinions on MCC programs and services, including classes, special events, theater programs, exhibits, tours, and youth and teen activities at this hearing. Dance from the Heart: United Belly Dance Benefit for Tsunami Aid. Dances of 1001 Nights, coordinating with sponsors in cities across the United States, presents a Belly Dance Benefit to aid those in Southeast Asia affected by the tsunami. Titled “Dance from the Heart,” the Northern Virginia benefit will present performances of Egyptian, Persian, Turkish and American-influenced Middle Eastern dance styles. This event will showcase some of the area’s top Middle Eastern dance artists, who have donated their time and effort in support of this cause.
