Last Meeting for RA Board of Director Vicky Wingert

At last Thursday’s Reston Association Board of Director’s meeting, Director Vicky Wingert was recognized by fellow directors for her service to the board and to Reston. On what would be her last meeting, Director Douglas Bushée on behalf of the board presented Wingert with a $100 donation to Friends of Reston in her name and a six-pack of Dominion root beer with some local flair: the bottles display a picture of Reston founder Robert Simon. “I want to correct what one of the paper’s said. It said I resigned, but I chose not to run for a second term,” Wingert said. Several directors took time to praise her years of service.

Tree Forum at the RCC

Reservations for the Fairfax Community Tree Forum III are due by April 5. Sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension, the event will feature a panel of experts to deliver the most up-to-date information about tree issues in the community. The forum is limited to 100 seats and will be held at the Reston Community Center at Lake Anne from 7-9 p.m.

The tour, preceded by breakfast, focuses on the “reality” of the commercial real estate market today and it’s impact on business. The event often sells out early and requires early registration. The event is taking place at the Hyatt Regency in Reston at 7:30 a.m.
