Pantherlon Enjoys Another Successful Year

Storck leads off the 250-plus runners.

Approximately 250 runners turned out for this year’s Pantherlon 5K Race. Rebecca Bostick, who organized the race for the third year, welcomed the runners before turning it over to School Board member Dan Storck, who announced the beginning of the race. Sponsored by the Carl Sandburg PTA, this event is a fundraiser for the school.

The first place winner was Ted Poulos (age 43) with a finish time of 17:07. He was followed by Brian Fussell (age 18- 17:09) and Taylor Bostick (age 16, 17:20).

The top three female finishers included Marie Knight ( age 27) with a time of 19:41, Jenny Rexrode (age 50, 21:06) and Anne Khatcheressian (25, 21:44).

Finishing in the lead for Carl Sandburg was Ben Hammon and Kelsey Rosenberg. Second place Sandburg students include Thom Hammond and Mara Perscheid.
