Go insane with laughter and drama with Northern Virginia Community College when the Loudoun Campus’ Community College Theatre presents "One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest" Nov. 4-6. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m. in the Waddell Theater. The League of Reston Artists presents through the University of Phoenix Northern Virginia Campus an exhibition of fine art water photography by Corey Hilz. Exhibition opens Friday, Nov. 4 and runs through Jan. 27. Holiday Boutique at the Vale School House, presented by Wild Iris Productions, through Nov. 5. Work from more than 40 artists and artisans from the area is featured, including seasonal crafts, wreaths, jewelry, candy, baked goods, pottery, toys, gifts and home décor items. Color Ecstacy, a new collection of art by American Cubist Rene Dickerson on display at Galerie Europa, 11944 Market St., Reston. The collection is on display through Nov. 8. The gallery is open Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday noon-6 p.m.

Teen Cinema Afterschool Program. Teens ages 12-17 are invited to the Herndon Community Center for an afternoon of refreshments and a movie — all free. The application deadline for the Greater Reston Arts Center’s 15th Annual Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival is rapidly approaching. The juried festival is scheduled for May 2006. This year, GRACE has partnered with Juried Art Services, an online application and digital jurying process provider.

There are two ways to apply:

— Electronically. The electronic application deadline is Nov. 12, with a nonrefundable application fee of $40. A late fee of $25 must be included for electronic applications received between Nov. 12 and Nov. 20. The Elden Street Players present Conor McPherson's "The Weir", with performances at 8 p.m. through Nov. 19, and Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The play, set in a pub in Ireland, includes a series of ghost stories told by the barman, two regulars and a woman new to town. Three Perspectives on the Natural World, an exhibition that explores the artists’ dialogue with the natural world, is currently on display at the Greater Reston Arts Center through Nov. 26. The exhibition is sponsored by Nature’s Best Magazine. In coordination with the exhibition, GRACE will offer a multi-age workshop, Combining Forces: Exploring Art and Nature, Nov. 19, 10 a.m.-noon. Tour GRACE’s current exhibition, "Three Perspectives on the Natural World", with the curator and examine Nature Exhibits with a naturalist from the Walker Nature Education Center. The program will include an opportunity to make your own art in a workshop with the artists.

The watercolors of geologist-turned-painter Mary Rainey-Medlin will be displayed through Nov. 30 at the RCC Hunters Woods, 2310 Colts Neck Road. The show features images of landscapes, flowers and animals in watercolors, acrylics and pen and ink.
