St. Timothy's School in Chantilly will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Bishop Paul Loverde of the Arlington diocese will kick off the Oct. 1 celebration with a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Timothy's Church. The celebration will have an official dedication and open house at the new middle school building for seventh- and eighth-graders that opened in January. The new building also has a multi-media library. The expansion provided the school with extra classroom space to open a preschool, which earlier this month began its second year of operation. During its 25 years of operation, the school has established an excellent reputation that culminated in a Presidential Blue Ribbon award a couple of years ago. The school is still filled at or near capacity even though the geographic area of the parish has gotten smaller with the establishment of St. Andrew's parish in Clifton and St. Veronica's across from Franklin Farms Middle School. Both of those newer parishes also operate a parochial school.
