Mower Missing

Sometime the morning of July 14 a riding mower disappeared from the River Creek area of Lansdowne and now the Sheriff's Office is asking for help in determining who might have taken it.

The riding mower, which is valued around $7,000, was taken from the gated community sometime between 10 and 11:30 a.m. that Friday. The mower belongs to Leesburg-based company, Blake's Landscaping, and was sitting on a trailer near LaCosta Way and Spanish Bay Court when it was taken.

Authorities believe that a person or persons must have put the mower into their own vehicle to remove it.

"You would have to have a trailer to load it because of its size," Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kraig Troxell said.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Investigator B. Ochsman of the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division at 703-777-0475. To remain anonymous, callers should call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. A caller providing information that leads to an arrest and indictment could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
