Potomac Animal Hospital has received accreditation following a comprehensive evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association. The evaluation includes a quality assessment review of the hospital’s facility, medical equipment, practice methods and pet health care management. The Old Angler's Inn has opened its informal beer garden for canal and river lovers and is actively pursuing relationships with companies, associations, and others who are involved with canal and river activities. The Old Angler's Inn has recently agreed to open its garden Wednesday and Thursday nights to accommodate Potomac Paddle Sports and other outdoor enthusiasts from 6-10 p.m. for libations and casual fare. All are welcome.

Jill Tanenbaum Graphic Design & Advertising Inc (JTGD&A) of Bethesda has been hired by Premier Management Services to market two commercial real estate sites in Springfield, Va. The properties total 70,000 square feet and are located blocks from Routes 95 and 495. Springfield's transformation includes upgrading the Springfield Mall, developing apartments, offices, shops and a hotel, building new restaurants, and adding houses and offices.

Safeway begins a five-week fundraising campaign to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Through Labor Day, more than 1,500 Safeway and Safeway-owned stores across the United States have set a goal to raise $3.6 million through various fundraising efforts. Checkstands at Safeway stores in District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia will be equipped with point-of-sale materials for customers to contribute. The company will also post Aisles of Smiles shelf tags on participating national brands. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these products will go directly to MDA.
