DASHing Through Alexandria

Alexandria Transit Company (DASH) has partnered with nearly 40 local businesses to expedite buyers throughout the holiday season. "DASHing Through Alexandria" encourages holiday shoppers to "take the bus and leave the driving to us."

The program's goals are to help shoppers reduce holiday stress, reduce traffic congestion, and alleviate the endless search for parking, according to the transit company announcement. They believe Alexandria enjoys a competitive edge over many other area shopping venues by offering accessibility by transit.

In addition to the free weekend DASH service from the King Street Metro Station to Market Square and back, "DASHing Through Alexandria" for the holidays is offering riders discount incentives to many Alexandria's shops and restaurants. DASH provides convenient service to not only Old Town but also Del Ray, Potomac Yard, Eisenhower Avenue, and the West End and all four Alexandria Metrorail stations.

Riders presenting their DASH bus transfer within four hours of their ride to any of the participating partners will receive discount offers and savings. A complete list of all participating merchants and establishments and their offerings can be found at www.dashbus.com. For additional information contact Anne Janeski at 703-370-3404, ext. 614.
