Congregation Sha'are Shalom, Loudoun County's only conservative synagogue, announces the following events for the month of February:

* Rabbi Neil Tow will conduct a Tot Shabbat at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3. All children 2-5 and their families are welcome to attend. Family services will follow.

* Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m., Rabbi Neil Tow will discuss end of life issues in Judaism at the synagogue. This will include an overview of mourning practices including shivah, sheloshim, burial and other customs among others. Everyone is invited to attend and complete the evening with dessert and socializing.

* Annual Tu B'shevat Seder at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10. This holiday, which is like a Jewish Arbor Day to celebrate trees, will followed by a short Kabbalat Shabbat service and dessert. We will celebrate by eating fruit, drinking wine, saying the appropriate blessings and talking learning about the symbolism involved in these acts. New Life Christian Church is offering support groups for teenagers whose parents are divorced or separated called "How do I deal the Parents' Divorce?," beginning Feb. 12, at Westfields High School, at 9:30 a.m.. The Loudoun Church Alliance is a formal association of churches of many denominations, founded two years ago. It works in the areas of youth development, international missions, evangelism outreach, and is now working to develop relationships with government and business.
